The Reset Button for Hard Floors
When VCT gets dull, yellowed, or scratched past what buffing can fix, stripping and waxing is the reset: strip every layer of old finish down to bare tile, neutralize, then build the shine back with multiple fresh coats of commercial floor finish.
It's disruptive work while it's happening — the floor is out of commission for the night — so we do it over weekends or holidays and the floor is cured and ready by the next business day. Most floors need it once a year or so; a good burnishing schedule in between stretches that out.
Done right, a freshly finished floor is the single most noticeable improvement you can make to an older space. It reads as new the moment someone walks in.
